PICK-UP

PICK-UP
taken | pick-up | contact | full navigation

So you want to join, huh? Well, it's easy!

Comment to this post with your name, contact, character, and 1-3 paragraphs describing a little bit about what will make them unique. What is their AU, and how does it set them apart? What game were they part of? What relationships do they have on arrival? Do they have any motivations for staying here? If they've come straight from canon, go into why they would stay here or why they'd visit, and what's going on back in canon and some personality.

In addition, please include a link to an opt-out post! Starhue Valley is an open and inclusive playground with a wide variety of players, so it's only natural a few of them might not click with each other. We'd like everyone to be able to curate their RP experience here for their comfort, so an opt-out post to allow for that is required to be accepted. It doesn't have to be fancy— just there! Here are some examples.

Canon: Fire Emblem Awakening
Character: Olivia
Variation: OU
About: Olivia is a dancer who traveled with a troup across the land before being rescued by Basilio. From there she joined up with Chrom and his army to lend her support and aid to them all. She's painfully shy and sometimes struggles with being positive, but she does absolutely try to do her best. Somehow this painful shyness does not get in the way of her dancing most of the time, but it does mean she tends to downplay her own talents, much to the chagrin of those she's around. She does not handle compliments well but she's kind hearted and openly affectionate to those she cares about. She adores her son, and regardless of who she winds up marrying depending on player choice is openly affectionate with her husband as well. In this way she's very nurturing despite her crippling shyness and uncertainty about most things.

Despite this she does manage to get along with a lot of people, even the more rowdy ones in canon. I feel like this is because despite her shyness she is genuinely a helpful and somehow outgoing person in her own way. It takes a lot of guts to get up and dance in front of a lot of people, and she really shines when she does so.

Having her in the game would let her grow a little in her own way, while working on becoming more confident. It would be a long road, but caring for a herd of fluffy animals totally sounds like something she'd be into. She would be able to dote on her animals, and at the same time be pushed out of her comfort zone (as small as that is.) It'll also be hilarious as she tries to get her feet underneath herself to be fair.

Canon: Fate/
Character: Bedivere
Variation: Fate/Grand Order version
About: Bedivere was the first knight sworn into the Knights of the Round Table, and the personal attendant of King Arthur. He was also present for Arthur's last moments, and was tasked with returning Excalibur to the Lady of the Lake. However, this version of Bedivere is from a timeline where he failed on the third try, and so Arthur expired before he could do it. It led to him searching for his king for 1500 years before finally tracking Arthur down and returning Excalibur before becoming a Heroic Spirit. Back home, he's one of countless Servants contracted to a Master named Ritsuka Fujimaru, and will answer his call when needed. However, that won't be often due to the sheer number of Servants at Ritsuka's disposal. In the meantime, he can enjoy the peaceful life here.

Out of all of the Knights of the Round Table, Bedivere is arguably the kindest, with Galahad being his only competition. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body, and even thought of the invaders and monsters that threatened Britain during his life as threats to be defeated, not enemies to hate. He's also absolutely loyal to his king, but not to the point where he will always obey her orders, as shown in the Camelot Singularity by siding against her.

The game would provide Bedivere with something he desperately needs after such a difficult life: Peace. Being able to live in such a quite, peaceful place and work the land or offer his knowledge as an instructor would allow him to rest and recuperate.

Canon: Pokemon (games... sort of.)
Character: Professor Augustine Sycamore.
Variation: AU? Private game CRAU? Something like that. He's literally from Starbucks AU: the game, you tell me.
About: Augustine is a gentle, idealistic man whose profession lies within studying not only all sorts of life, but all sorts of customs, seeing the different ways all living things can hopefully work towards living in harmony. He's a professor at the college in his city where he teaches philosophy, hoping encourage personal growth within them whenever possible. He deals with their differing opinions with a great amount of grace and understanding, but he is not without a strict side. As a result of this, he is a highly respected and loved -- if not slightly feared -- scholar in the eyes of the students he's had over the years.

Outside his profession, however, he is a gigantic dork. He isn't a very fashionable person (his socks rarely, if ever, match the rest of whatever he's wearing that day), he's very excitable over little things, and he can't rollerskate to save his life. Perhaps it's a combination of his scholarly persona and the silly aspects of his personality that manages to win him so many admirers. Or maybe it's just because he is, on top of everything, a shameless flirt. A man is not without his vices, and Augustine's is that he problems resisting a pretty face. Well, that and the fact that he loves both wine and coffee a tad too much. Especially coffee -- he can often be spotted at any of his city's (suspiciously numerous) Starbucks locations, usually accompanied by Lysandre, his closest friend.

Even Augustine won't fully understand what's drawn him to Starhue Valley, and his bus back home will out of service indefinitely, but he will take it all in stride and go with the flow. Life can be so exciting when it's unpredictable, after all.

Canon: Revolutionary Girl Utena.
Character: Utena Tenjou.
Variation: CRAU from Luceti! (And Genessia, sort of. She didn't do much there, but she'll have memories regardless.)
About: When Utena was a child, she had lost all will to live after the death of her parents. It was then that she was approached by a prince, who not only encouraged her to live on, but left her a momento of their meeting -- a rose signet -- and told her that they would meet again if she kept her noble heart. At least, that's how Utena remembered this meeting for the longest time -- the truth is a much different beast. At some later point, Utena was enrolled into Ohtori Academy, where she became a popular figure with her fellow students due to her insistence on wearing a boy's school uniform. It was at Ohtori Academy that her life was flipped upside down. After challenging a member of the school's student council to a duel over the honor of a friend he had wronged, Utena found herself in possession of the Rose Bride, Anthy Himemiya. From that point on, she found herself involved in a whirlwind of duels over Himemiya, despite having no interest in fighting said duels. No interest at all... and yet, when she lost against the student council president, she challenged him to a rematch and won Himemiya back. For friendship, perhaps?

After that point, Utena began to get challenged by the mysterious Black Rose Duelists -- regular people with a certain connection to members of the student council -- for something far more sinister. Should Utena win, Himemiya would remain safe, but a loss wouldn't just cause Himemiya to change hands, it would cost Himemiya her life. Eventually, Utena discovered the one behind the Black Rose Duelists and, after an attempt to show that they weren't that much different due to her inability to let go of childhood memories, challenged him to a duel. It was at that moment that she was swept away from her world to Luceti. Utena then spent the next few years there, growing up away from Ohtori and on occasion being thrown into battles far more real than the duels at Ohtori could ever be. It was during this time that she remembered the true reason she wanted to become a prince -- not became of a fairy tale prince who had saved her, but to save a girl from her eternal suffering. Eventually, at seventeen years old, she managed to escape from Luceti, only to be temporarily sent to Genessia. After that, she found her way to Starhue. As much as she wanted to return to Ohtori, to Himemiya, perhaps part of her was still holding on to the few bonds she made in Luceti...

Utena is a kind, courageous, friendly girl who is easily approachable. She is more than willing to protect the people she cares about when needed, and she is extremely loyal. She's honest, even when the truth would do her more harm than good. She has the sort of determination that can make her an unstoppable force, but she can also be the exact opposite at her lowest. When Utena experiences something that greatly shakes her, it leaves her in a complete mess and causes her to want to give up. It usually takes someone snapping her back to reality or giving her a reason to keep fighting to drag her back to where she needs to be, but once she's back on solid ground, she's stronger than ever. She's naive to an extreme fault and has a difficulty seeing the entire picture, or even a bit of what's truly going on, in more complex situations, due to having a rather childish view of the world. She also shows severe signs of hypocrisy in many ways, can be extremely pushy, and tends not to know when to stop poking her nose in places it doesn't belong. While she genuinely wants to protect others, there's at least a portion of it that's also for the sake of her ego and fueling her desire to play prince, and while she now remembers the reason for wanting to become one to begin with, old habits die hard.

Canon: Final Fantasy XIV
Character: Haurchefant Greystone
Variation: OU
About: A knight lives to serve─to aid those in need! And that is what Haurchefant has done throughout his whole life. Even well before he was a proud knight of Ishgard. The well being of others has always been a top priority for him. And those that he has sworn himself to he serves and protects with his whole entire being. And his whole being is not an understatement. Time and time again Haurchefant has thrown his body in front of others in order to protect them and even being the last one to leave a dangerous situation to ensure their safety.

The knight of the ever chilly tundras of Coerthas does not suit his climate. He's warm and gentle and filled with a passion and a love that cannot be so easily snuffed out. He expresses charming if not frequent adoration for the Warrior of Light and does not hesitate for a moment in telling them how great, wonderful, amazing, and splendid they are. Always with the greeting of friend on his lips and childlike excitement at the sight of them. Though many people adore the Warrior and all that they have done it simply cannot be disputed that he is their biggest fan. For when all the Eorzea turned their warrior away he had open doors and fought for them in a world that would not.

So naturally... that adoration for the Warrior of Light will bring him here (where there are many Warriors of Light to dote upon with praises and encouragement.) Are they farming? Are they hunting slimes? He's going to be right there cheering them on louder than anyone even if there is no need to do so... and there probably isn't. And though it may be unlikely that he has come here considering circumstances your love towards the people around you can understandably do some remarkable things! Besides all these green fields and farms is a remarkable change of pace from the ice and snow. A well earned vacation for a most dutiful knight.

Are you okay with interacting with an AU/CRAU/otherwise of your character? I mean if there was ever another Nephenee out there...maybe. Ask first?
Canon: Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, post-game
Character: Nephenee Knight
Variation: CRAU'd from My Little Jamjar, with Rakuen & World of Pokemon throw into the mix at various points in that game, and from post-MLJ PSL Eorzean Adventures (FFXIV, post-patch 4.3)

About: Nephenee's a seasoned world-hopper and soldier, having been to three other games, and getting dragged into Eorzea was her latest adventure. Originally incredibly shy and self-concious and ashamed of her upbringing, she's opened up an incredibly significant amount, to the point it tends to surprise canon-fresh characters from her world. This is partially due to a hell of a lot of hardship, from Nightmarescapes where she watched her homeland plunged into flames and had to defeat enemies of the past (and survived thanks to friends), to accepting an incredibly powerful Shadow that also nearly took her out, to dealing with the loss of memories and friends and the knowledge of failing to save a world (Rakuen), and finally learning forgiveness and compassion and making peace with things.

Because of the friends she made, though, instead of becoming bitter, she learned she could rely on them to help her through these things; she had friends that loved her and accepted her, and even her upbringing and strong accent and mannerisms that she'd been ashamed of for years. Slowly, she became more confident, outgoing, and incredibly friendly (compared to before at least), got herself a husband and a bunch of adopted siblings, and after learning forgiveness and compassion, she even earned the title of Alicorn. With the rest of the off-worlders, they all defeated the evil that had taken over a Twilight from another world, and the land was saved!

Oh, also she got an Element, Valor. And got trained by freaking Dante from Devil May Cry. Those were pretty damn cool, too.

After having some time in her new homeworlds to decompress, she and Cirno got yoinked into an Eorzea where they and a few others are Warriors of Light. She, Cirno, and Yua are in the same FC, and she's specifically from the end of patch 4.35...they could maybe use a break! In fact, that's one of her reasons for staying here. While part of her would like nothing more than to just wash her hands of things and let the world save itself while she goes and stays with her husband Morgan and adopted sister/daughter Cirno in their home, she knows the world needs saving and they need to do it...but for the moment, Hydaelyn gave them a vacation, she guesses. She will take the bus to her home and to Eorzea every now and then, though. So she's in this weird in-between space for now, she guesses. At least there's farming to do?

Canon: World of Warcraft
Character: Chen Stormstout
Variation: OU
About: "Live in the moment" is a good way to put Chen's philosophy -- slow down and embrace what you are doing, enthusiastically and wholeheartedly. Chen truly enjoys what he does, whatever he does -- adventuring, brewing, drinking, fighting, or just traveling along and seeing the sights. The Wanderer's Way, as he calls his adventuring, is less action and more attitude. Like most Pandaren, Chen is extraordinarily difficult to rile -- but unlike the Pandarian natives, Chen seems to have acquired this trait with age and experience instead of as a matter of culture. He has one weakness, though; he gets the most upset when family is involved. But even his darker moments don't last for long. He's gregarious and friendly, and hard to keep down.

Chen has practically been everywhere and done everything -- to the point that he was pretty much on both sides of the Third War, fighting next to Magni Bronzebeard one moment and helping found Orgrimmar the next. He's responsible for a yearly holiday based on drinking, and has visited Outland to see what it's like. The lifestyle is slowly catching up to him, as he occasionally gives voice to the idea of settling down; Pandaria speaks to him deeply, as a beautiful place with lots to brew and lots to fight. Chen loves a good fight the way he loves everything else, but he's just as likely to solve a real problem by cunning instead of brute force.

For no adequately explained reason, he hates being interrupted while he is banging on doors.

Canon: Gakuen Basara [which is an official au of Sengoku Basara? But it's also getting its own anime? DO WHAT YOU WILL TO THE TAKEN LIST I GUESS]
Character: Date Masamune
Variation: Uhh... OU, I think...
About: Date Masamune is a ROWDY BOY, just as any incarnation of him tends to be. This one may be worst of all because unlike his historical, Sengoku-era counterpart, being a modern-day student means he doesn't have war as an outlet for all his extra energy. So he takes it out on being HIGHLY competitive, short-tempered, sassing authority, tons of physical activity, taking up any dumb challenge that he considers interesting or potentially beneficial-- although what "benefits" him is usually something that helps stroke his ego, like getting him into a position of superiority (especially over someone who's pissed him off) or just being the flashiest center of attention in the world. God, the flashiness. He is SO extra. Why hold one baseball bat when he can swing six at a time like some bad Wolverine knockoff? Why just speak in normal Japanese when he can yell in English 60% of the time? Why settle for just having a good baseball team when he can be THE BEST IN JAPAN OR THE WORLD ITSELF?

Anyway, as much of a fearless and hot-blooded shitty punk as he is, he's got... an okay heart? Kinda? He's less actively looking to drag others down EXCEPT YOU, SANADA YUKIMURA and more wanting to lift himself to the very top. And he looks out for his own friends and team, and as brash as he is there's something charismatic about him or else he wouldn't have such a following. He may be stubborn and prideful but he does take other peoples' advice and ideas into account. And once he has a plan in mind he'll follow through to the very end, for better or for worse, so that's something?! And he isn't out to destroy public property like other punks. But he might end up taking someone's a horse out for a joy ride.

(Also, he's surprisingly good at gardening. He learned by helping out the very best. At least he has some kind of useful skill for Farmville here...)

Anyway hey I'm Noelle and I take gag manga too seriously, what's up.

Canon: Final Fantasy XIV
Character: Haurchefant Fortemps
Variation: AU
About: Haurchefant Fortemps, in this universe, did not survive long. He went to rescue Francel - as he does in canon - but then fell to his death. Stabbed. However, before Francels' very eyes, the body stood again and protected him. For the man known as Haurchefant Fortemps, in this world, is an Ascian known as Emet-Selch. Unlike most Ascian, Emet-Selch was curious about how mortal men lived. And so, they made a deal with Elidibus - they could live the life of a mortal, but would return to assisting with a rejoining once time had passed, and both that body and Francel perished.

This was a good deal, because Haurchefant got to live as a Knight - and got to both aid the Warrior of Light and spur them into fighting more Primal. How? They helped Beast Tribes nearby create tainted unicorn and horses, by teaching them how. As long as the Primal were summoned and Warriors wanted these horses? It would cause chaos and strife.

However, as time went on, Haurchefant grew closer to abandoning that goal - at least, until his flesh perished. There was a strangeness within his Ascian heart, however, and Haurchefant wanted to remain with them. So, for now, they tail their own Warrior of Light, in their shadow. Though he moved on to teaching how to create Primal Birds and Dogs, he still felt so much love from all of this. Since Francel was safe, and since the Warrior of Light was taking a break right now - well, Haurchefant could take his own break, right? Put on the old face and go have a new life, in the warmth of farms and new friends.

Because who'd try and hurt an Ascian here? It was not connected to Lord Zodiark or any Rejoinings.

Character: Y'shtola
Variation: OU
About: Y'shtola is a Scion of the Seventh Dawn, committed to promoting the well-being of Eorzea at large against its numerous threats such as Ascians, primals, and Garlemald. She goes about this business with a calm composure and a thoughtful mien that rarely falter.

Though all the Scions are educated, Y'shtola comes off as one of the most scholarly and intellectual, as she rarely delves into banter or joking. To the contrary, her comments are usually insightful and, while never rude, occasionally not particularly diplomatic at all. She's comfortable and confident enough to call out anyone, position or power, if she sees them behaving in a foolish or self-destructive way.

She has less regard for herself, though. To escape imprisonment or death, she called on forbidden dangerous magic that saved herself and others, but at great cost to them all. To make up for that cost, she's spending her own life to see through the aether instead of with her ruined eyes. Beyond these forbidden or unique magics, she is a conjurer of great skill, capable of communing with the elements and calling upon them to heal or harm.

Canon: Final Fantasy X
Character: Jecht
Variation: OU
About: On the outside, Jecht is arrogant almost to the point of being a jerk. Years of blitzball stardom have clearly gone to his head, and he never ceases to remind anyone (his son included) that no one can match his performance at the game or the skills he has to win. Accustomed to fame and glory, he seems to expect parades and celebrations for his deeds. Despite all this going for him, though, his career had started going downhill thanks to his problem drinking; he was saved from shame or retirement only by being kidnapped by Sin.

Despite his ego, Jecht has a lot of positive qualities: he's generally a helpful, decent man in action. During the course of Braska's pilgrimage, he often dragged the Summoner and Auron into helping out in various situations by insisting it was the "right thing to do". Along the way he took numerous videos (spheres) of the trip, intending to show his wife and son them when he got back to Zanarkand; when he realizes that he never will, he continues to do so, leaving them in the hopes that someday his son will see them. At the end of the journey, his desire to help the world, coupled with the knowledge that he can never go home again, lead him to essentially sacrifice himself, becoming Braska's Final Aeon so Spira can know a few precious years of peace.

Jecht is, quite frankly, a terrible parent. Somewhere along the line he got the impression that the right way to raise a child is to belittle that child so he decides to toughen up and prove Jecht wrong. Jecht routinely berates and abuses Tidus, telling him he's a crybaby and will never be anywhere near as good at anything as Jecht is. He... means well, but it's still pretty horrible. Jecht believes in his son, though; he honestly expects the best out of Tidus. He just can't express any of these sentiments.

Canon: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
Character: Applejack
Variation: CRAU from [community profile] mylittlejamjar
About: Applejack is a sweet country gal with a hardcore athletic streak. She spends her days working her tail off at the family farm, Sweet Apple Acres, and she spends her nights hanging out with her circle of friends, brought together by fate. She and her five friends represent the Elements of Harmony, the core ideals of friendship, and her status as the embodiment of the Element of Honesty has given her some perks. Including being an advisor to the Princess of Friendshi.

She'll gladly take anypony in with some classic country hospitality, and she'll always go the distance for her friends, but she can be stubborn as a mule and impossible to persuade when her way of doing things isn't the best. She's especially distrustful of newfangled technology and things she doesn't understand---but for her friends, she'll try.

Her AU is from [community profile] mylittlejamjar. She fell into a slightly different alternate universe version of her home, encountered versions of herself and her friends from strange timelines, and faced the dark magic that had permeated the land that turned out to be from a familiar source. The rising stakes tested her willpower and traditionalist tendencies, but she made friends along the way who opened her up to new ideas. In the final battle, where she offered a hoof to the corrupted future version of her princess at the center of it all, her element changed slightly: the former Element of Honesty is now the Element of Faith.

She's well-suited to farm life, and her adventure has convinced her that Equestria will be all right. She won't mind staying and lending a hoof for a little while.

Canon: Mickey Donald Goofy: The Three Musketeers
Character: Mickey Mouse
Variation: CRAU from [community profile] lifeaftr
About: An optimistic young orphan, Mickey was inspired by the original three (well four) musketeers who saved him and his friends. Wanting to be just like their heroes, Mickey Donald and Goofy vowed to one day become brave musketeers who would protect everyone in the kingdom! ... Except they wound up as janitors. Despite this, Mickey never gave up hope that their dreams would come true - and they did, albeit as a villainous plot for Captain Pete to dethrone Princess Minnie. But as Mickey continued to unknowingly wit his Captain's plans, his optimism continued to grow, as did his brilliance and bravery.

As for his AU turnabout, Mickey had his happy-go-lucky attitude knocked down several pegs when he learned that just because you believe in something, doesn't make it come true. He's had to see close friends die (although thankfully they returned to life), which is something that's shaken him down to his core - and made him determined to become stronger, so it would never happen again. It's been months since he's seen his home-friends, which has made him lonely, but he hides it with a smile. In addition, thanks to an elf, Mickey has learned some magic before his kingdom hearts days - specifically, he can summon a small fire and cure light wounds. With practice, both will increase in strength. He's also aware that in other worlds, he's famous, but as far as he's understood it, it just means that his act of saving the princess has spread via mouth.

As eager as Mickey is to go home, he wants to find a way to save his friends back on the island at Life After, while also becoming a man "worthy" of the princess' hand.

However, when Mei awoke from her sleep, nine years had passed and the rest of her team had died as their cryotubes lost power. Mei had to come up with an escape plan back to civilization herself, and since Overwatch was no more, she went out on her own to abandoned Overwatch Ecopoints to collect their data on the climate.

Mei is a remarkably chipper young woman who always tries to see the bright side. Her manner is often happy and carefree despite the seriousness of the situation. It could almost border on flippant, were she not so genuine. An occasion where she accidentally froze her arm solid for several days is considered simply "embarrassing" to her, instead of traumatic like it would be to others. Being cryofrozen for nine years has had a big impact on her but so far, we've seen little indication of that after the initial shock. In fact, the only mentions of it post-Rise and Shine short come from her merrily saying she needs to catch up on her favorite shows and that Mercy hasn't aged a day. It seems that in the face of adversity, Mei is a pillar of positivity.

The work she's doing is very important, but even she admits that the science of climatology can seem boring to others. Her goal is to preserve the world for the future while keeping people updated on her progress through her journal. Though this gives her a connection to the outside world, Mei is now doing her environmental research alone. It can be dangerous out there, but nothing seems to faze her. Cold weather, impassable routes, and more are all just a part of the journey to her. When given the choice between the easy way and the hard way, Mei takes the hard way because it's more rewarding to her. She'd rather walk back from the middle of nowhere than take a helicopter because she doesn't want to be cooped up inside anymore. After being trapped at Ecopoint: Antarctica after a polar storm, no one can blame her for preferring the open air instead of being closed in. For her, her scientific experiments aren't just a job, they're a passion. She's shown gushing over her experimental tools and the fact that she gets to do science, though she realizes her enthusiasm over the subject can seem lame to others. Here in Starhue Valley, Mei would bring that passion to her farm as she tries to work out why the mountains are impassable and what these slimes are all about. It's an environment that requires some scientific research to figure out!

Canon: Dragon Age
Character: Cassandra Allegra Portia Calogera Filomena Pentaghast
Variation: Canon.
About: Cassandra at first glance is a tough, pious, harsh warrior that has a strong sense of purpose and a strong sense of self. Inwardly, she's kind, caring, and passionate. She's righteous, having dedicated herself to her church and her post, first as a Seeker, then as right hand of the Divine. She's tenacious, and one of the few in her family actually still able to pursue their dragon-hunting legacy. It's not her idea of fun though.
A Seeker of Truth, she left her order to dedicate herself to Divine Beatrix, and after, Justinia. After the events at the Conclave, Cassandra was responsible for recruiting the Inquisitor, and along with her fellow council, helped establish the Inquisition.
Helping the Inquisitor with the Inquisition, defeating Corypheus and closing the breach were all her main goals. Along the way, she learned a lot about herself, and about the world around her.
She's sharp, and witty when she wants to be. Despite her loyalty, first and foremost her faith comes first. If her gut tells her one thing and her dedication tells her another, her faith is what she believes. To the point that not only she leaves her Order, but also defies the Chantry when forming the Inquisition. Cassandra is a go getter, and will do whatever she believes she needs to do in order to accomplish her goals.

Canon: Ducktales (2017 variant)
Character: Bishoujo Senshi Waddle Duck Mark Beaks
Variation: CRAU from where? AU with what? No AU just pulling him from when he's first intro'd in the series with a little bit of his antagonistic side showing from time to time. There's a few terrible things I'd like to explore with his character in a place like this.

About: Mark Beaks here is a fully fledged CEO and Founder of the Ducktales equivalent of Apple (Waddle) He's also one of the trashiest birds out there. He's a tech industry billionaire but doesn't care so much about money but more so prefers to focus on his status.

Though despite his laid back attention seeking appearance there is a very dangerous side to Mark which possibly might even be considered Yandere when he comes obsessed with something he'd like to possess

Basically he just wants to be noticed and he'll do it in the biggest flashiest, tackiest way possible (Think Tony Stark only more feathery.) He's also kind of a nerd, I mean this IS the guy who came up with the high-five app, listens to dubstep whilst flying a helicopter and also has a magical girl esque transformation sequence whilst changing into Fenton's GizmoDuck suit.

Canon: Dragon Age
Character: Cullen Rutherford
Variation: OU
About:
Cullen knew from a young age that he wanted to be a Templar. For years he harassed the local Templars in his hometown of Honnleath in hopes that they would teach him their ways. They did, albeit simply to humor him at first, and eventually he was accepted into their ranks once a higher ranking knight saw the potential in his abilities. He trained with them and was eventually placed in Kinloch Hold to watch over the mages there.

Unfortunately, Kinloch Hold would fall not long after during the Fifth Blight, and would be overrun by abominations and blood mages desperate for escape. During the chaos he would be trapped by said mages; leaving him scarred with memories of his comrades dying horrible, bloody deaths in the halls of the tower. These memories had a lasting impact on him, obviously, and he was eventually sent out and to Kirkwall to serve under Knight Commander Meredith.

Until this point, Cullen's opinions on mages had been... neutral, for the most part. He wanted to help people, to protect them, and that included the mages under his service. Kinloch Hold had scarred him deeply however, and though he tried his best to control himself, he would often slip into moments of 'mages cannot be trusted' and other such bias that had been drilled into him by the knight commander and everything he had seen before hand. He followed Meredith almost blindly, seeing her transformation but never being able to go against her. Not until the end, anyway.

He took command when Meredith fell, still dedicated to the Chantry and the Templars despite his slightly shaken faith, and then eventually joined the Inquisition at the behest of Cassandra. It's during this time that he dedicated himself to mending his ways; to accepting that the horrors he experienced shaped him, but would not change him from his ultimate goal of protecting innocents and anyone that needed him.

Cullen is a conflicted man, dealing with the fallout of all that happened to the order he trusted and pledged his life to, but still doing his best to be a good person. He's dedicated, kind, and always willing to do what he must in the face of danger. And although his stern demeanor suggests that he's a bit of a stiff, he has proven many a time that he cares for the people around him and would ultimately die for the Inquisitions cause if need be.

Canon: Angels of Death
Character: Isaac "Zack" Foster
Variation: OU
About: Not much is known about Zack's past, save for some few, but important info. He was born to a mother and father, though he seemed to be unwanted, as one day the father came over and set him on fire. After that, he was sent to a seedy orphanage and was basically made to be slave labor for the owners of the place, including burying kids that are sent here and die shortly after. From the reaction that present Zack gave when he remembered this memory, it's implied that he wasn't fond of it, even though he kept silent about it. Despite all the abuse, he managed to hold on until a caretaker accidentally left the TV on, which was showing a horror film at the time. Having it caught Zack's eye, he became fascinated and it ended up with the murders of the caretakers. Zack then ran away from the orphanage and it is implied that he managed to survive up for that long up until Gray, seeing some sort of value in him, asked him to be an "angel of death" for the Tower.

From then on, Zack lived not much differently in the Tower before a girl named Rachel Gardner came along. He chased her down until she escaped on the elevator, though he wasn't quite done with his pursuit yet; somehow, he made his way up to the next floor and seemingly killed off the main resident of B5, Daniel Dickens ("Danny" for short), which also unintentionally saved Rachel in the process. After that, an issue was put out, calling for Zack to become a "sacrifice" along with Rachel, as he had violated a rule. Then he tried to escape to no avail until Rachel approached him with the wishing of being killed. Zack being Zack, agreed to it on the promise that she helped him escape the building. Thus, the two of them then formed a bond and from then on, made their way through the perils and traps of both the Tower and their residents.

Personality-wise, Zack tends to swear a lot and cannot read, due to having a lack of education. He has proclaimed himself to be an idiot and many times in the game, he lets Rachel do the problem-solving instead; unless it is explained in simpler terms, he won't get it and will get frustrated. He also admits to being a straight-up serial killer and absolutely revels in slaughtering people, never once being ashamed of it in the least. Heck, he even calls himself one early on, taking pride in his "occupation". Sometimes, when he really gets into it, Zack will lose control and try to destroy everything around him until he is satisfied or unless he recovers.

Despite being such an asshole edgelord, there are some good points to him. For how murderous he is, Zack does not like and will not kill someone who looks dead, as he much prefers seeing people die with despair on their faces. It's kind of a weird moral code, but hey. Better than making excuses, at least. Speaking of- for how foul-mouthed he is, he is also outright honest and he absolutely hates when people lie, since he thinks it's really stupid to make excuses for something (especially when it pertains to murder). He can also care for someone! It's just gonna take a while and more than likely will start with some kind of deal, but he does make good on his end.

That being said, Zack is going to make an attempt to leave Starhue until he realizes it's not quite easy with the bus schedules being weird and then at least try to live here. Keyword: Try.

Canon: Overwatch
Character: Ana Amari
Variation: OU
About: The Omnic Crisis was basically Skynet going rogue on humankind and it hit Egypt particularly hard. In response, a force of marksmen was used to subdue the omnic forces. Ana Amari, part of a long line of soldiers, stood out from that force as the best in the world. She soon joined Overwatch, the organization created by the UN to finally stop the war once and for all. As part of the founding members, Ana was second-in-command, even if she never really stayed away from field work.

A very dedicated soldier, with duty and honor worn as a lifestyle more than a purpose, Ana not only defended humankind, she wanted to end with all the suffering. No missed shots, no complicated ploys to cause more chaos than necessary. Every kill notched down on her rifle meant a burden in her soul - a necessary evil. Willing to sacrifice her own essence as a good person in order for people to stop suffering.

Aside from Overwatch, there are two events that changed her life: the birth of her child, Fareeha, who she raised with the utmost dedication while still responsible for operations in Overwatch. It's this work that caused, later on, great attrition between herself and her daughter - Fareeha wanted to follow in her mother's footsteps, Ana wanted anything but, even if the reason she did continue in Overwatch was to protect people.

The second event is meeting Gérard Lacroix's wife, Amélie. Amélie had been kidnapped and subsequently rescued by Overwatch. However, a couple of weeks after the rescue, Gérard is found dead and Amélie nowhere to be seen. While it was believed that Amélie had been kidnapped once again, or, as Ana believed, killed as well, the rumor mill churned about the idea that it had been Amélie who had killed Gérard. Unfounded or not, it's true that death at the hands of your loved ones was something that hit Ana harder than she wanted to admit.

So when she finds her own relationship with her daughter strained and learns about farmland available, she finds that the moment to pause, reflect, and perhaps dedicate some time to one of her most favorite things - tea - would be now. She heads over to the location to find some peace, quiet, shoot a few cans from a fence instead of people's lives, all the while helping out the next door neighbor and ease whatever malaise they may be suffering from.

Canon: OC (I mean she’s from a Werewolf: the Apocalypse tabletop game but she’s basically an OC.)
Character: Trixie Brown
Variation: None!
About: Trixie was a foster kid with a rough past and a dark-looking future. She had trouble relating to other kids and got into all kinds of trouble until she was aged out around high school. She was surprisingly good at her classes, but fell in with a miscreant crowd that liked shoplifting and smoking behind the school. One day they figured out she had eidetic memory, and started using that to steal money—credit card fraud, mostly—but the funny thing is, her friends all eventually grew up, moved away, and moved on from their rebellious teen years. Trixie did not. She continued her life of crime well into her adulthood, embracing an extremely fake, candy-coated appearance while talking hard shit and essentially stealing money from bigwigs and scumbags for a living. She lies, cheats, and sleeps around to get what she wants, all to protect what is secretly an extremely insecure, lonely girl who thinks that the world will destroy her the moment she shows an ounce of weakness.

Oh, and she’s a werewolf. That’s kind of a new development for everyone. She’s spent the last four months of her life gaining some empathy and slowly becoming friends with the other members of her pack, but she’s still got a long way to go before she actually finds any real self-esteem or interpersonal skills outside of flirting, yelling, or outright lying. Here’s hoping that Starhue can fix that a little!

Canon: Terminator Salvation
Character: Kate Connor
Variation: CRAU from where? AU with what? N/A
About:
Kate come from a world that's post-apocalyptic and war-torn. Only a handful of humans remain, and they're relentlessly hunted by the killer robots called Terminators. Kate and her husband, John Connor, have been leading the human resistance, the only thing standing between Skynet, the rogue AI that destroyed most of humanity, and total extinction.

For Kate and hopfully John, Starhue is a refuge, a place to get away from the death, fear and chaos for a time, a safer place for her child to be and hopefully be safer. She doesn't have any cast mates in game unless John also signs up, but she will probably make a few friends once she gets to know people.

Kate is resourceful and smart, used to improvising and getting things done with whatever she has available. She's got a big stubborn streak and is going to be guarded for a while because she's spent over a decade constantly fighting and fearing for her life. She's seen a lot and been through a lot and grapples with PTSD to a point.

She's willing to help the other farmers even though she never did much with large animals in her vet practice, and she's had to learn a lot of human medicine as well.
